Turns out that not only does Elle Fanning play a princess on-screen, but she also has some royal blood pumping through her veins.
Her and her sister Dakota Fanning, according to Ancestry.com, are directly descended from King Edward lll, ruler of England from 1327-1377.
That's not the only royal that the girls have in their family tree. In a far removed branch, the girls are related to Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. Turns out that they are 21st cousins to the princess.
Elle plays Princess Aurora in the new blockbuster film Maleficent; no news yet if she took any cues from her cousin.

Other known connects to Kate Middleton are Ellen DeGeneres who is also a far removed cousin to the duchess.
