Manchester United and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Owner Malcolm Glazer Dies Aged 85
The sporting world are in shock as it's just been revealed that Malcom Glazer has passed away aged 85. The American businessman, and sports owner, was well known and highly regarded across the entire world, especially in England and America, where he was known primarily for owning soccer's biggest team in Manchester United and popular NFL franchise, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Glazer was at first disliked by Manchester United fans, as he created a huge debt for the club by buying them. There were many protests against him, with many wanting him out. However, over the past few years many had started to warm to him. During his time as United owner he won five Premier League titles and one European Cup, the UEFA Champions League. He was the owner for around 9 years.
Glazer's Manchester United trophy success:
They won five Premier League titles (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013), as well as the 2008 Champions League title.
His Tampa Bay team won the Super Bowl in 2002, meaning Glazer enjoyed the biggest success possible with both his EPL and NFL teams. Malcolm leaves behind his wife, Linda, his six children, and his fourteen grandchildren. It will be the least of anyone's worries, but his passing also piles doubt on to Manchester United's future, which is the last thing he, and anyone involved with the club would've wanted, considering they've already been through a lot of changes in the last year.
