One Direction's Louis Tomlinson To Buy Doncaster Rovers Football Club!
After a few days of rumors about One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson purchasing his hometown football club, the Doncaster Rovers, an officially statement from the League One team confirmed the exciting news.
"Following reports in the media, the owners of Doncaster Rovers can confirm that they have been approached and dialogue has taken place with external parties about a proposed takeover," the statement from the Rovers revealed. "At this stage the club is not in a position to comment further about the level and detail of those discussions but will do so as soon as it is legally possible. The owners are looking to ensure a swift resolution to the discussions to ensure that this does not impact adversely on the summer transfer activity. Any decision made by the current owners will focus on for what is best for Doncaster Rovers in both the short and long term."
Tomlinson last year signed to the Doncaster Rovers as a non-contract, charity player. Read more on that HERE!
Earlier rumors about Louis buying his favorite team also involved former Doncaster majority shareholder and owneer John Ryan. The two apparently wanted to start a trust to take over the other 75% not owned by Ryan (he currently owns 25% of the team).
"He's putting everything into it," a source recently told The Sun. "This is his passion project - and it will happen. He's putting everything into it because of his love for the side. John is the business brains. He's incredibly experienced and Louis is learning so much from him. They want the deal to go through by July in time for the start of the new season. It's at an advanced stage."
With the confirmation of Louis' intentions confirmed by the team, we could see this business partnership come to fruition!
