Cesc Fabregas in England For Television Advert: Arsenal Reject Cesc Return As Manchester Clubs Prepare to Fight For His Signature
Cesc Fabregas of Barcelona is one of the best midfield players in the world, so this weekend when his club put him up for sale, it was evident that a bidding war would start. Cesc enjoyed a great Premier League career with Arsenal between his two stints with boyhood club Barcelona, and it seemed evident that they, alongside many other EPL sides, would make a move to bring him back to England. Cesc is currently in England, but it appears Arsenal want no part of the bidding war involving their former star and hero.
Fabregas was in London this weekend to film a Beats by Dre advert, but it appears that's as close as he will get to his former club, who are based in London. Liverpool, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs (City and United) are interested, but there seems to be no clear choice as to where Cesc will end up. A bid of around $43 million will be enough, but it's believed Manchester United are the only club willing to match his big wage demands.
With Arsenal stocked up in midfield, they know they cannot break their budget on a player merely on past merit. The Gunners are in need of a defensive-minded midfielder, and Cesc fits the attacking bill that they already have so much similar to.
Manchester United are long-time suitors, and City are keen, but would Cesc value first team football or a big salary? There should be some clarity before the World Cup later this month.
