Fans of BBC's Doctor Who probably understand how the show hasn't changed too much after rebooting in 2005. Sure we've seen three different leading characters with a fourth coming this summer and two showrunners, but we get what the show is about. Well, current executive producer Steven Moffat recently revealed the upcoming season could shake things up a bit, because he feels it's time!

"We haven't made much of change to Doctor Who since it came back in 2005," Moffat admitted this week speaking at the Hay festival.

"It's been the same show," he continued. "It's maybe amped some things up and lowered some other things, but it's basically the same. I just feel it needs to be different, and it needs to be surprising again."

What kind of changes do you think will take place in the upcoming Doctor Who episodes? How will Peter Capaldi's first season stand up to his predecessors'? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Meanwhile, we learned recently that singer-songwriter Foxes will guest star and perform on the series this year.

Speaking with the BBC, Foxes seemed genuinely excited about the casting news and is definitely looking forward to filming.

"I can't believe I'm actually going to be in an episode of Doctor Who! Especially as it all came about from a chance meeting," the singer revealed. "I was playing a gig and got chatting to the show's production team who'd been watching my performance. I was telling them how much I loved Doctor Who and next thing they invited me to be on it. I couldn't think of a better place to make my acting debut than on one of the UK's most iconic shows!"
