BOOM! Studios Celebrates #RoboCopDay With ‘RoboCop: The Guantlet!’ Free Comic Download Included With 2014 ‘RoboCop’ Blu-Ray/DVD!

BOOM! Studios is getting into the cheery and celebratory mood of RoboCop Day. The free comic book download, RoboCop: The Gauntlet, will be included with the RoboCop Blu-Ray/DVD, which is out in stores now.

The 2014 remake is based on an 80's sci-fi/action guilty pleasure. After Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnamen) died in the line of duty, a major corporation OmniCorp used their advanced technology to bring him back. Transformed into the cyborg known as RoboCop, Murphy takes on the gangs and drug kingpins of Detroit to save the crime-ridden city from itself.

According to Blastr, June 3 is officially RoboCop Day in Detroit. At a later date, the officials at Detroit Police Department Headquarters will soon unveil its 10-foot bronze statue based on the Robocop suit from the original 1987 film, not from the 2014 remake. I dare you to stand next to monument, take a selfie video, and say, "Dead or alive! You're coming with me!"
