Could Colin Kaepernick's New Contract Make Russell Wilson And Andrew Luck Millions Of Dollars?
Some might think the new generation of quarterbacks would be wanting to get one up on each other, and possibly have some secret dislike for one another, but perhaps not. Next year superstar quarterbacks, Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks) and Andrew Luck (Indianapolis Colts), were going to find themselves locked in contract negotiations. They still will, but Colin Kaepernick's new, record-breaking contract may make their whole process a lot easier, and it will most definitely see them earn millions of extra dollars, too.
Quite often a player brings rival players and their numbers to the board during their contract talks. Both Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck have a lot more going for them than the now highly-paid Kaepernick, so surely they would want, and deserve more money than him? Kaepernick will receive around $21 million per year, but both Super Bowl-winning Wilson and hotshot Andrew Luck could earn in the region of $24 million per year.
If all goes to plan then Wilson will be the highest paid, and if any doubts arise, then one glance at his Super Bowl ring should quickly change that. Whilst this trio of quarterbacks has revitalized the NFL, their bank accounts may take a different shape, too. One can only hope that their on-the-field performances continue to reflect the high figures that will be printed on their new contracts.
Do these stars deserve this kind of money, and when it's all said and done, who will have the best NFL statistics and be considered the greatest between them?
