Marvel Comics will throw in every incarnation of Spider-man, from Spider-Man 2099 to Spider-Man Noir, in the upcoming Spider-Verse event. In the prelude miniseries, Edge of Spider-Verse, readers are taken to another dimension where Gwen Stacy, not Peter Parker, is bitten by a radioactive spider.

In the Marvel Universe, Gwen was the love of Peter's life before she met her demise by the Green Goblin. Actress Emma Stone played the fan-favorite character in the Amazing Spider-Man movies. Now in this alternate dimension, she becomes the superhero known as Spider-Woman.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Latour reveals a bit about Gwen's origin story, "We're trying to treat Gwen as a fully realized and fundamentally different person than Peter, to treat Spider-Woman as something new." Latour continues, "But as we set out to do that it's impossible not to think about what she shares with Spider-Man. What that seems to be, aside from the powers, is that they're very much influenced by strong parents."

From Rodriguez's official Instagram, check out Spider-Woman's latest redesign:

I certainly like the black and white colors, which is reminiscent of the Venom costume. Gone are the red and blue hues, which I think gives Stacey a more mysterious vibe. In a two for one special, not only does she have a mask but it also serves as a hoodie.

If you notice the picture, Rodriguez makes a side note mentioning, "Feet Look Like Chuck's." The feet do like they were drawn from a Chuck Jones' cartoon, but only smaller and not so exaggerated. They do look cartoony don't they?

From Latour's Instagram, check out the cover for their Gwen Stacey: Spider-Woman One-Shot special:

I do like how Stacy is in a classic Spidey pose, with her arms stretched out and knees bent. Spider Woman removes her mask and hoodie, revealing her secret identity.

Gwen Stacy becomes Spider-Woman in the second issue of Edge of Spider-Verse. Although a release date hasn't been released yet, I cannot wait for this issue to get here.
