Johnny Manziel simply cannot stay out of the headlines, for both good and bad reasons. Relax, Cleveland fans, it's good this time. After only recently being drafted by the Browns, Johnny Manziel has been drafted by MLB franchise, the San Diego Padres. Confused? Everybody was. With the 837th pick in the 2014 pick, the Padres followed the Browns' recent move, and drafted Manziel.

Johnny did play baseball at high school, but has only thrown first pitches in MLB games since being a college QB. He threw the first pitch in a Padres game last year and was invited to do the same for the Cleveland Indians recently. This is a move that although not for serious reasons, will earn the pair money and a lot of media attention.

Padres general manager Josh Byrnes explained the situation "He certainly loves baseball. We kind of talked about it at that time, 'Do you want us to draft you?' He said, 'Yeah, absolutely.' " Will Manziel sign for the Padres? Not a chance, but he will be an honorary member.Manziel was delighted and was quick to thank the Padres, tweeting "Big thank you to the @Padres and @padresmikedee for selecting me in the MLB draft. What a great day!"

It seems good things can't keep away from Johnny, as he then reached 1 million Twitter followers, a number that many NFL players have failed to reach, yet he has done so before even playing his first game.

Was drafting Johnny a smart move, or a waste of a pick?
