NFL: Former Texas A&M And Tennessee Titans Running Back Rodney Thomas Found Dead At 41
Sad news emerged today, which touched many NFL and NCAA fans. Rodney Thomas who was once of the Tennessee Titans (NFL) and Texas A&M (NCAA), was found dead today. The 41-year-old had a seven-year NFL career, and was a widely popular running back. The RB passed away Saturday at his home in Groveton, East Texas.
The cause of his death hasn't been confirmed and an autopsy has started. The star RB was drafted by the Houston Oilers in the 3rd round of the 1995 draft. Ironically the big name player emerged from the same school as the highly debated Johnny Manziel, who will have his first NFL season starting September.
A career-best moment was playing in Super Bowl XXIV, when his Titans fell to the St. Louis Rams. His last season in the NFL was in 2001, but many still remember his stunning performances to this day, and the 41-year-old has received a ton of tributes in the wake of his devastating passing. He leaves behind a 4-year-old child and his wife.
Many took to social media to say he was kind, caring and down to earth. Some said he was one of their favourite ever players, and of course that he'd be sorely missed. In a time where players, like his fellow Texas A&M attendee Manziel, are in the media for all the wrong reasons, during and after his career, he kept himself to himself.
