'RHOBH' Star Lisa Vanderpump's Restaurant Sued For Sexual Harassment, Villa Blanca Ordered To Pay Huge Punitive Damages
It seems that Lisa Vanderpump can't catch a break this year.
After a stressful time filming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills it looks like some of the drama from the show has made it's way into her personal life as well.
The restaurant, Villa Blanca that Vanderpump owns with her husband Ken, has made its way into the headlines today as a past employee filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the eatery.
Karina Bustillos, a former waitress, was awarded $100,000 dollars in punitive damages by a jury, after claiming that a manager verbal and physically harassed her. Her testimony states that the manager called her derogatory names but also made sexual advances to her, as well as tried to touch her.
TMZ reported on the case, but it seems like the facts aren't adding up. Apparently the jury didn't place any of the blame on the manager, almost seeming like they didn't believe Bustillos testimony, so it's bizarre as to why Lisa's restaurant was implicated and why they would have awarded money to someone they didn't trust.
Lisa confirms that she will definitely be appealing the verdict.
"We are in absolute shock at the amount of punitive damages that were awarded, Vanderpump's attorney tells the news site. "Especially in light of nominal compensatory damages awarded and the lack of sufficient evidence. We plan to immediately file an appeal and are confident that we will prevail."
