Adele's New '25' Set To Be Surprise Album Like Beyonce? Details On When 'Someone Like You' Singer Will Release Upcoming Record
Is Adele about to pull a Beyoncé on us and release a surprise album?
That's what the Daily Star is reporting. Sources close to the British newspaper are saying that Adele could release the album as soon as tomorrow.
"Theoretically it could be released tomorrow if she wanted."
Details on the third album from the British pop star have been pretty sparse but an insider did tell the paper that "the album is written, recorded, and finished." Other details that have been learned are this record will follow in the footsteps of her other two album titles and be named after the age she was when she recorded it, so this one will be called 25.
"The plan is to release internationally on iTunes as a complete surprise without any previous promotion or build-up publicity campaign," the source reveals. "The shock tactics worked amazingly well for Beyoncé and the feeling is Adele's new album is so widely anticipated it doesn't need a long promotional build-up."
There hasn't been a release date set yet, or if there has the singer is only cueing a few people in on it.
Adele has just gotten over dealing with throat issues over the past year, but it seems like the singer is doing better and wants to do a few select concerts to promote the album after it is released. The follow-up album to "21" will most likely be released during the fourth quarter, in either October of November to really capitalize on the holiday sales. But fans most likely won't know when until the day that it's released.
