After Manchester United's horrific 2013/14 season, their fans and staff are watching closely as Louis Van Gaal continues to impress with his Netherlands side dominating at the 2014 World Cup. With in a matter of weeks his Netherlands duties will be done and dusted and the focus will shift on to making United a force to be reckoned with again. Van Gaal has a plan, and everyone's starting to believe he can make United great again.

United have lost a lot of veteran players this summer, but it's believed they have the money to spend and strengthen the squad with. Van Gaal will attract quality players despite their lack of European football. To make United great again, Van Gaal knows the team needs a rock solid defense. That must start with a big buy. The club are looking to sign Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala and Benfica's Ezequiel Garay, who are both having a sensational World Cup.

His Netherlands side has a lot of great, young stars. Van Gaal will want to make his new role as easy as possible to ease in to, so expect him to target some young Dutch stars to pair with Robin Van Persie, who he is currently working with. Arjen Robben may be another target for the club, but the younger Dutch players may provide the club with an easier target to sign.

Van Gaal will then look to make United an attacking force once again, and by doing that he can re-establish the fear factor the club once had. It's going to be a long road ahead for the club, and not all of these plans will come to fruition, but Van Gaal appears to be the man to make the club great again.
