Manchester United Are Closing In On $100 Million Double Deal For Luke Shaw And Ander Herrera
Manchester United have for a long while been plotting a big summer spending spree in an attempt to revamp their struggling, ageing squad. So far they've been slow to start their transfer business, but it 's believed that's because their new boss Louis Van Gaal is currently coaching Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup. However, reports suggest they are closing in on a deal to sign 18-year-old Luke Shaw and Spanish star Ander Herrera.
This will cause more upset for former boss David Moyes, who had the huge desire to sign both of these players for the club. The Herrera deal is believed to be a mere formality or two away from completion , while Shaw wants to join United, but Southampton are playing hard-ball over the fee. Shaw would provide United with something fresh, and a player than many believe can become the best left back in the world in the coming years.
United would eradicate their weaknesses, whilst providing themselves with an immediate impact and players that can grow in to future superstars, too. The total sum of money may raise eyebrows, but with the world knowing their plan, huge transfer fees were always likely to follow. That shouldn't scare the club off, as they are likely to sign four or five players, costing over $200 million.
Can this duo bring success back to Manchester United? What other player should the club target? It's going to be an interesting summer, and before long, United fans will see an almost entirely new-look first team.
