Chris Brown Going To Trial? Singer Rejects Plea Deal In Washington Assault Case
MStars News has learned that singer, Chris Brown just rejected a plea deal in his Washington assault case, and is going to trial.
According to TMZ, Brown was seen going into his lawyer's office for a wardrobe change before his D.C. court appearance, to say no in the alleged attack that happened outside of a hotel.
The "Loyal" singer was close to taking a plea but the deal was cancelled because the prosecutor and Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, couldn't agree on a statement of what happened leading up to the alleged assault.
Brown has claimed his innocence the whole time and says that he didn't attack the alleged victim.
If Brown would have pled guilty to assault, he would not have to serve any additional time in jail. Now it looks like trial is the path he chose and that makes jail possible once more.
The trial date has been scheduled for September. Brown's bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, has already been convicted of the assault that happened last October outside of Hotel Washington in DC.
