The New York Times just deemed rapper Kendrick Lamar "Hip-Hop's Newest Old-School Star." Do Mstars fans agree? Apparently, fellow emcee Eminem sure does.
Slim Shady was recently interviewed as part of the exclusive feature on West Coast Black Hippy's hottest superstar. The MMLP2 mastermind strongly lauded K. Dot's lyrical prowess:
"We've been in Compton before," the Detroit native explained. "But the way that Kendrick did it was so different...The album is crafted from front to back, the way each song ties into each other - to me that's genius."
Coming from Eminem, that's a huge compliment withing the hip-hop industry.
The infamous "Rap Gop" even compared Lamar's work ethic and dedication to his own:
"There's a certain hunger that you can sense about Kendrick...He raps to be the best rapper in the world. He competitive-raps. That's one of the things that's going to drive his career. He's going to be around for a long time."
