WATCH: 'Life After Beth' 2014 Movie Trailer [VIDEO] Aubrey Plaza Is Dane DeHaan's Undead, Zombie Girlfriend!

When you think of a zombie movie, romance and comedy don't really come to mind, do they? Well that's exactly what takes place in Life After Beth, a romantic comedy that just happens to center around an undead girlfriend. This new funny take on the living-dead movie trope stars Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect), John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, and Cheryl Hines.

What happens when your girlfriend (Plaza) dies without you having the chance to express yourself openly? That's certainly a question that Zach (DeHaan) suffers with at the start of this movie, but what happens when she's resurrected into an undead zombie?

Obviously hilarity ensues, as we can see from the first official trailer for Life After Death. At first it looks like Zach is ecstatic to have Beth back in his life, but she starts to change into a monster. Literally. A zombie.

This new Zombie comedy hits select theaters on August 5 and debuts on DirecTV exclusively on July 17. Here is the official synopsis for Life After Beth:

Zach is devastated by the unexpected death of his girlfriend, Beth. When she mysteriously returns, he gets a second chance at love. Soon his whole world turns upside down.
