Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Bobby Womack Dead At 70
MStars News has learned that music legend Bobby Womack died Friday. The soul singer passed away in his sleep according to his sister. Cause of death is unknown at this time.
According to TMZ, Womack had a history of multiple health problems ... including diabetes, pneumonia, colon cancer and the early signs of Alzheimer's.
The singer and his brothers formed a group in the '60s called The Valentinos recording the song called "It's All Over Now." That song soon became a #1 hit when the band Rolling Stones released their version of it.
Womack was born in Cleveland Ohio, to a large family. Many members of the Womack family have been successful in their own right, including (Womack & Womack).
Womack was also a guitarist and played in the late Sam Cooke's band. The soul singer would cause some drama marrying Cooke's ex-widow, Barbara Campbell.
Womack would later record songs like, "Across 110th Street" and "If You Think You're Lonely Now," that are still played on Old School radio stations everywhere. Even R&B singer's like K-Ci and JoJo remade some of Womack's songs.
In 2009, Womack made history being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
RIP Bobby Womack.
