2014 World Cup: Despite Chile Exit Alexis Sanchez Will Be A Summer Premier League Target
Every time an elite international team are awarded the chance to host the World Cup they are usually placed as the favourite to win the tournament, and their players are often hailed as the best in the world. Brazil faced Chile in the World Cup round of 16, but the focus was firmly on Chile star, Alexis Sanchez, who despite Chile's penalty-kicks defeat, starred, and proved that he can hang with the very best in the world.
Sanchez scored in normal time to tie the game at 1-1, but sadly his team lost 3-2 on penalties, and he missed. However, his World Cup performances have increased his reputation drastically. The star had a brilliant season, but was often hidden behind the shadow of his star team-mates Lionel Messi and Neymar. The star looks set to leave, knowing he can get more minutes and more love from another team.
It would seem the Premier League will be his destination, with several Premier League teams like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are eyeing the star as a summer transfer target. Are Chile the surprise package of the 2014 World Cup, or will another team take their place now they've been knocked out?
If Barcelona were to keep the Chile star, how can he fit in alongside his superstar team-mates, or could he be used as apart of a deal to lure Luis Suarez to Barcelona from Liverpool? Wherever he goes, it appears the star is now ranked alongside the very best players in the world, and so is his Chile team.
