WWE Spoilers: John Cena vs Brock Lesnar SummerSlam Update, Money in the Bank Title Match Finish
WWE will hold its Money in the Bank pay-per-view on Sunday, and the main event features an eight-man ladder match for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Most people assume the winner of the match would be John Cena, particularly because a promo poster for SummerSlam features Cena and Brock Lesnar. But does this definitely mean that Cena would win on Sunday?
The likelihood of Cena's victory increased when WWE sent out a news blast with the SummerSlam poster and indicated Cena would face Lesnar at the event. But new reports state that WWE might not have Cena win at Money in the Bank in order to throw off the fans who assume they already know the ending.
But even if Cena does not win at Money in the Bank, he is still likely to head into SummerSlam as the champion. It is possible that WWE might change the ending on Sunday and have Cena win the title at Battleground next month.
And speaking of Battleground, local advertisements in Tampa, Florida for the event on July 20 have revealed two matches for the top of the card: Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins.
In other news, Bad News Barrett likely will not participate in the contract for the Money in the Bank ladder match thanks to the separated shoulder he suffered during the Smackdown tapings earlier this week. Instead of replacing him, WWE would likely just hold the match with six wrestlers instead of seven.
