Earlier this month, "Sons Of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam fell victim to the infamous celebrity death hoax. Rumors suggested that the 344-year-old English actor "died in a tragic car crash." Not true. As Mstars previously reported:

A BOGUS Facebook page entitled "RIP Charlie Hunnam" went viral earlier in June - and fans totally freaked-out. Thankfully, the account was eventually deleted. But the damage was already done.

Especially when this fake news report later hit the web through the popular social networking site.

Apparently, the former Christian Grey favorite tragically passed-away in a car crash in Virginia:

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (June 15, 2014), our beloved actor Charlie Hunnam passed away. Charlie Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980 in Newcastle upon Tyne. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

Simply untrue. When shocked fans click on the link (GOOGONLINE.COM), they're directed to a page which states, "You Got Owned."

Aka - it's all a prank.

Twitter fans were NOT amused. And apparently, Hunnam was also very annoyed that a hoaxter "killed him off" on the web.

Several of his own friends were totally panicked and "freaked-out" before realizing that the report was untrue.

But Hunnam still managed to fnd some humor in the otherwise horrible situation. He tells a rather annoying photog that if he were to die, the best way to go would be to "die of boredom during a TMZ interview." Awesome:
