Does Andy Serkis Have a Role in The Avengers Age of Ultron?
Andy Serkis has made his mark as an excellent motion-capture performer. Back in April, Mark Ruffalo tweeted that he would be working with Serkis to "perfect" the Hulk in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. But is Serkis actually IN the movie?
Last week, the mo-cap wizard from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes spoke to HitFix's Drew McWeeny and said that his London-based digital studio, The Imaginarium, is working as the motion capture consultant on Marvel's 2015 blockbuster.
"And I'm playing a role...I've been working closely with Mark Ruffalo," said the actor who portrayed Gollum in Lord of the Rings, which implied he would merely serve as a consultant to the actor. But this ambiguous wording prompted McWeeny to contact his sources, who cleared up the situation.
"...They clarified that he is only playing one character in the film, and that the nature of that role is still meant to be a secret," he wrote. Furthermore, the sources confirmed the studio has not yet announced Serkis' role and said "James Spader handled his own performance capture duties as Ultron," which rules out the main villain of the film.
In other Age of Ultron news, the folks at Latino Review dug up a 16-minute video from the set, which was uploaded back when the movie was filming in Italy. The footage starts with Elizabeth Olsen filming some interesting scenes as Scarlet Witch that could be a spoiler depending on how you take it. Check it out here.
