'Real Housewives of New York' #RHONY Recap 'Something To Sing About'- Aviva Takes A Break From The Ladies, Luann & Ramona Bicker At Open-Mic Night
Get ready for another dose of the Real Housewives of New York.
We are finally back in the city that never sleeps after the ladies spend a pretty drawn out vacation in Montana. The girls spend a lot of this episode getting ready for an open-mic night that is going to take place at the "legendary" Birdland nightclub in NYC. While they may be back in the city it doesn't mean that they'll stop talking about Montana anytime soon.
On a double date, Heather and Jonathan, and Kristen and Josh talk about the dreaded "B" word, yup you guessed it "bossy." The word came up between the two housewives during the Montana trip and it hasn't seemed to die down too much since than. Josh and Heather, who appear to be on the same level, explain to Kristen that you have to be bossy when you run your own business. While Kristen explains that she has uprooted her life to take care of Josh and the family, her husband can't help but insult her by saying that when she her own business and does all these things that he does then they can talk.
This is kind of a theme that runs through much of the episode. Kristen and Josh later in the episode make dinner plans, plans that Josh has to be late for as he is on a conference call. Kristen cooks for her husband, something he jokes that maybe he'd comes home more often if she did. They get into a very heated argument about him being on a conference call and being stressed at work, which Kristen seems to understand but she doesn't know why Josh couldn't have sent her a quick text letting her know he'd be late.
They finally agree after all the arguing that they should talk to a professional and go to therapy.
While there date night fizzled, it looks like Sonja was having the time of her life on a picnic with Harry. He takes her to Central Park where he gets some of her favorite foods and they spread out on the lawn and even say, "I love you" to each other. We get a little backstory on the couple, finding out that they had actually dated years ago and are just now rekindling their romance.
We couldn't help but think that we were watching a high school drama during some of this episode, especially when Sonja fills Aviva in on all the happenings in Montana. They meet in Sonja's private garden where the housewife recounts all the details of the other women bashing her during the trip. While her claims are completely exaggerated, it does get Aviva a little bit annoyed when she hears that the ladies though she was lying about her illness and that the real reason she didn't go on the trip was because they thought she couldn't be away from Reid.
Aviva is complete flabbergasted by these women, wondering what else they think she is lying about. "Maybe I'm lying about having an artificial leg and the whole thing was about getting attention," she says. After digesting all the hateful words Aviva realizes that she needs a break from these ladies.
Sonja's bestie, Ramona, partakes in the high school level drama as well by pestering Luann at the open-mic night. While getting ready to watch Mario hit some high notes Ramona can't help but poke fun at Luann asking her why she isn't singing, after all she is the singer of the group. It gets kind of uncomfortable watching Ramona prod and pester the Countess, even teasing her that she isn't singing because they don't have autotune there. Luann tries very politely to get Ramona to stop but nothing seems to work.
Ramona's attitude seems to be very rude as Luann is at the event to support Mario, Ramona's husband. Luann gets the final laugh as she says that Mario's performance was good but a little bit heavy for the happy occasion.
Sadly, Luann doesn't perform a rendition of her hit "Money Can't Buy You Class," but Heather gets up on stage clearly taking home the performance of the night, even garnering a standing ovation from the crowd.
You could say that Heather ends the episode on a high-note.
