WWE Rumors: Why Dean Ambrose Is The WWE's Best Attraction

News broke earlier this week that Daniel Bryan's injury may be worse than WWE and his fans had feared. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion might need a second surgery, this time on his shoulder, and WWE has reportedly removed him from any plans for the foreseeable future while he recovers. Bryan's timetable to return is completely unpredictable at this point.

With such terrible news hanging over us, it might hard for WWE fans to see a light in the darkness, especially as we head toward what will likely be a mediocre Battleground pay-per-view next Sunday. But fear not, because there is a shining light here to lift us up and make us smile again. His name is Dean Ambrose.

Think about this for a second. Ambrose in any other walk of life would either be arrested or committed to an insane asylum. He stalks and assaults his former friend and co-worker, Seth Rollins, on a weekly basis. He has wild, crazed eyes and stringy hair to cover them. He speaks as though he's one step away from snapping and just throwing punches at the closest human or inanimate object.

In an interview after last week's Monday Night Raw with Renee Young, whom he is reportedly dating, Ambrose launched into a story about how he spent time in a Mexican jail because he followed someone who cut him off on the road in Texas for 36 miles and beat him to within an inch of his life.

And we're cheering this guy.

That's a testament to how much Ambrose is living and breathing his character. He's the late Brian Pillman, but a good guy. As I've said before, nowadays fans cheer the man behind the character, no matter if he or she is a face or heel. If we respect and admire your work, we'll prove it to you each and every week.

Oh, and as an aside, that interview with Renee was absolute gold. If you haven't seen it, check it out on the WWE Network. My favorite line is the one about three things that would serve a nuclear explosion: Twinkies, cockroaches and Dean Ambroses. Not Dean Ambrose. Dean Ambroses. Plural. This man is a joy on the microphone.

Ambrose has now made it his life's mission to stop Seth Rollins from cashing in his Money in the Bank contract at every conceivable opportunity. He's succeeded twice on consecutive episodes of Raw. The question now becomes how long WWE can keep up this story before it starts to feel predictable and rote. Personally, I hope Rollins loses the briefcase by expiration because Ambrose stalks him for 12 months and never lets him cash in the thing.

But I think I have a solution to keep this fresh. Ambrose is a damn lunatic, so let's have him stop Rollins in increasingly creative and absurd ways. Consider the following scenarios.

John Cena (or whomever is WWE World Heavyweight Champion) is down for the count. Out comes Rollins to cash in his briefcase. He checks behind him on the ramp and up to the stage. He checks the ringside area. Ambrose is nowhere to be found. He's about to hand the briefcase to the referee, when Ambrose claws his way up from under the ring like the Undertaker or Kane and tackles his former friend.

So next time the champ is down, Rollins makes sure to check the aforementioned areas AND under the ring. No sign of Ambrose. He confidently gets ready to hand over the briefcase when Ambrose descends from the rafters on a wire like Sting and stops him.

Now Rollins is really furious. He demands Triple H ban Ambrose from the building, and the boss orders security to arrest Ambrose on site if he shows up. (This is pro wrestling, just go with it, okay?) Now Rollins is sure he has his chance. The champ is down, Rollins comes out and prepares to hand over the briefcase. Suddenly, a man wearing a Sin Cara mask leaps the barricade and assaults Rollins. Surely, this fan is about to arrested! Except he takes off the mask and it's Ambrose, who had been hiding in plain sight for the entire show while enjoying some overpriced popcorn.

It would be just like this hilarious Sting moment from TNA.

This whole time, WWE could film vignettes of Rollins in his everyday life walking his dog, buying groceries, etc. And at every turn, Ambrose is there to attack him just because he's freaking insane.

The ultimate hilarity would be if Ambrose somehow won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but still continued to stalk Rollins to stop him from cashing in on himself. But it's far more likely another former Shield member would win the belt before that happens.
