Halle Berry's Extant Premiere To Big Audience On CBS But Loses The Younger Viewers- Find Out What Fans Are Saying About The Show On Twitter
The new Halle Berry drama Extant premiered last night on CBS to okay numbers. While the sci-fi drama opened to a healthy 9.4 million viewers, the show, which sees Berry's departure from film to TV, saw a big drop in the 18-49 demographic.
Extant average a 1.7 rating in the key demo, which definitely was lower than expected, after the network has been talking about it for over a year. While it didn't reach quite the numbers it wanted to in the key demo, it did gain a 2.4 rating in 25-54 year old demo.
Compared to CBS's other Sci-fi show Under the Dome, when it premiered last summer it was seen by 13.5 million viewers and earned a 3.3 rating demo. However, the second season has seen a decrease in ratings and last week's all-new episode was tied with Extant at a 1.7.
The difference between the two is that when Dome debuted it didn't have any lead in, which Extant did, opening after one of the hottest reality shows of the summer Big Brother.
Only time will tell if this show will be renewed or cancelled but numbers from DVR and on demand services are yet to be revealed, so that could be it's saving grace.
However, fans are Twitter seem to be taking a liking to the show, see what they had to say below.
