Kids that grew up in the '80s will always remember the first time they saw Marty Mcfly's cool pink Hoverboard in Back To The Future II.

Raise your hand if you always wanted to own one.

Well, you may now have that chance! That iconic piece of movie history and '80s pop culture is going under the hammer at a movie memorabilia auction at the Vue cinema in London's Westfield shopping centre in October. Starting bid will be around $20,000.

If that's too rich for your blood, the board will be on view for free before the auction.

The futuristic floating board was ridden by actor Michael J. Fox during the film's famous chase scene.

Earlier this year, hopes were raised when a video reputedly showed the age of the floating Hoverboard had finally come to pass. Riders, one of which included famous skateboarder Tony Hawk, were shown riding boards that looked like they could have been out of the film.

Excitement was palpable, but the video turned out to be a hoax. Creators Funny Or Die released an apology stating, "sadly, we were lying, the great promise of Back to the Future II has not been fulfilled ... yet. And for that, we truly are sorry." For now, the movie prop will have to do.

Other items set to be auctioned off include a film crew jacket from the set of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, an aluminum chair designed by the late HR Giger for sci-fi epic Dune, Captain Nemo's Nautilus Car from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and a Golden Ticket from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
