The July 14, 2014 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia and begins with WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, who encourages fans to sign up for the WWE Network to watch Battleground on Sunday.

He says he could lose his title in the Fatal Four Way match, and Roman Reigns' music eventually cuts him off. He walks into the ring and Cena makes it clear he heard Reigns' message at the end of Raw last week. He keeps talking and Reigns tells him to get to the point. Cena says tonight they can take out Randy Orton and Kane so that Reigns can test himself against the champ and see if he is as good as he thinks he is. Reigns doesn't back down an inch.

Dean Ambrose interrupts them on the TitanTron and says he understands their testosterone is running wild, but tonight is about screwing the Authority and Seth Rollins. Their three opponents then show up next to Ambrose and proceed to beat the hell out of him backstage. When they are done, a prone Ambrose simply asks if that's all they have. Rollins hits him with the Curb Stomp to end the segment.

The Miz defeats Sheamus, and the former had his face enlarged on the TitanTron for the entire match.

Rollins, Orton and Kane celebrate their assault backstage and Rollins leaves. Orton and Kane start to argue about Battleground and Triple H walks up and says they must trust each other because he does. He tells them to focus on bringing the title back to the Authority and to take care of business tonight. Stephanie McMahon walks up all turned on by the way Triple H handled himself just now and kisses him.

The crowd chants "USA" as Lana yells at them to shut up. She demands an apology from Colter.

He recounts some of his war experiences and says "hell no" to her demand. Lana says arrogance is the reason USA is crumbling into pieces. She puts a picture of Vladimir Putin on the TitanTron and Colter responds with a picture of President Barack Obama. He says whether we like him or not, real Americans respect the office.

Colter asks when Rusev is going to step out from behind Lana and face Swagger at Battleground. Rusev takes the mic and says "This is war," which apparently is a yes. Lana leads Rusev out of the ring and Colter says he always wondered who wore the pants and who wore the skirt in the relationship. Colter leads a "We The People" chant, which enrages Lana and she slaps him.

Rusev comes back in the ring but Swagger spears him. Lana grabs Swagger's hair and Rusev splashes him in the corner. He tries to superkick him but Swagger grabs his ankle and puts him in the Patriot Lock. Rusev escapes the ring and the four parties stare each other down.

A commercial airs for WWE 2K15 with Sting as the featured character. The commercial touts "two generations of Sting" as a pre-order bonus.

Triple H is backstage and Orton walks in to talk about Kane. He asks if he is sure about him, and Hunter tells him to forget about Kane because he is just their pawn. He says the plan is for Orton to walk out of Battleground as champion and Kane will stick to that plan. Orton says there should be no need for a Plan B and Hunter agrees.

Bray appears on the TitanTron and asks if Jericho remembers what it was like to be a child. He asks what happens than changes a man. Bray says he is coming after Jericho because he abandoned them when they needed him. Bray then says he has gone to war with many different great men.

Bray asks if he is afraid of the dark and blows out his lantern. The lights go out and when they come back on, Harper and Rowan are in the ring. They try to attack him but Jericho ducks them and escapes up the ramp. He backs up to the stage but Bray attacks him from behind. He hits Sister Abigail on the stage.

Renee Young is in the ring and introduces Ric Flair. He struts around Renee for a while as he says Virginia is for lovers and woos a lot. Renee asks whom he thinks will win the Fatal Four-Way match at Battleground. Flair picks Cena to win and Roman Reigns' music hits.

He makes his way to the ring and Flair extends his hand. They shake and The Nature Boy leaves the ring. He heads up to the ramp when Cena's music hits. Naitch struts a bit while Cena comes out and the champ hands him the Big Gold Belt. They hoist the belts up and embrace. Cena lets Flair hold onto the belt as he heads to the ring.
