After A Miserable 2014 World Cup Atletico Madrid Striker Diego Costa Finally Joins Premier League Chelsea
Over the past few years Diego Costa has established himself as a world class striker, but at his first 2014 World Cup he was supposed to prove to the world that he's the best forward, and one that could slit in to the already successful Spanish side. He did neither. However, it may be all good news from now on, with the Atletico Madrid forward finally completing his move to Premier League Chelsea.
The $50 million deal has appeared to be a formality for a while now, but with everything finalized, the striker can look forward to enjoying the money and challenged that come with the five-year contract he has signed. Costa scored 36 goals in 52 games last season, and some believe that he would've ensured that Chelsea won a trophy or two. Now he can prove that's the case.
Costa was delighted with the move, saying "I am very happy to sign for Chelsea. Everybody knows it is a big club in a very competitive league, and I am very excited to get started in England." It seems Costa is pleased to of finally made it to the English Premier League, which is often an aspiration for many foreign footballers. Costa will hope to fit in to Chelsea's attacking play, and not have a hindering influence like he did in Spain's World Cup team.
Will Costa be a huge hit in the EPL, or will he face yet another let down in his career? It's going to be an interesting season, that much is for sure.
