Krystal Ball, MSNBC Host, Prank-Called [Watch]: Howard Stern Fan's Tasteless Malaysia Airlines Crash Joke [Videos]

In order to get speedy and exclusive coverage on the Malaysia Airlines crash, MSNBC said goodbye to accuracy and fact-checking. Live on the air, MSNBC host Krystal Ball was humiliated by a Howard Stern fan during their coverage.

During her on-air coverage, the female news host took a phone call from a supposed eyewitness. The observer identified himself as Sgt. Michael Boyd. The military officer claimed to be making the call from the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. If you listen closely to the video, don't you think the random caller is trying really hard to mask his Jersey accent?

The fake caller said aloud, "The plane was shot down by a gust of wind from Howard Stern's a**."

Either Ball didn't catch that last part or was awestruck, but the anchor continues, "Can you tell us anything more from your military experience, what missile system it may have been coming from?"

The caller responds, "You're a dumb ass, aren't ya?"

Of course, Fox News had a field day tormenting the mortified host. Hosts Bill O'Reilly and Bernard Goldberg were clearly having fun picking apart the footage.

Is there someone behind the desk supposed to be screening the calls? Doesn't MSNBC have money to pay people to check where the call is coming from? This really could have been avoided in the first place.

Many news outlets have reached out to MSNBC for a possible explanation. No word yet from Howard Stern's representatives about this fiasco.

Readers, what do you think of this prank call? Tasteless or humorous?
