'True Blood' Recap: Deborah Ann Woll Gets Heart Broken In 'Lost Cause,' Sneak Preview of 'Karma' [Watch Video]
In 'Lost Cause,' HBO's True Blood explores the aftermath of Alcide's death and the continuing search for Sarah Newlin. Viewers are cordially invited to attend a celebratory party at Sookie's place.
Willa argues with Pam (Kirsten Bauer van Straten) that she doesn't want to leave with her and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard). To find out about Sarah Newlin, Eric promises to let go of Willa. Willa reveals Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) had a sister, who also happens to a vampire. The two have to travel to Dallas to find the creator of Hepatitis V.
Elsewhere, Sookie (Anna Pauin) returns to an empty home. Hours pass and she discovers her entire living room has been redecorated by Lafayette. Robert Patrick returns as Alcide's father, who has been invited to a party. Sookie doesn't even realize she's supposed to be hosting the shindig until Bill arrives with flowers in his hands.
Back in Dallas, Amber Mills is questioned by Eric about Sarah's whereabouts. Turns out Amber is also one of the infected vampires. When Amber asks if he will kill her sister, Eric nods. "Count me in," is her immediate response.
During the party at Sookie's place, Bill (Stephen Moyer) remembers back when he was human. During the start of the Civil War, Bill didn't want to fight because he knew the South would ultimately lose. After the death of a close friend, Compton reluctantly decided to enlist.
After a rousing speech about Alcide as a hero, Sheriff Andy (Chris Bauer) steps out to meet with Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll). Her torturing herself causes him more pain. Andy needs Jessica's help to move on. The first thing they do together is find a ring for Holly.
Jason (Ryan Kwanten) hands over his grandmother's ring to Andy. During the dance, Andy orders to DJ to kill the music, gets down on one knee, and proposes to the love of his life. He has to ask the question again because Holly jumps the gun and says yes.
While everyone congratulates Andy and Holly, Arlene and Sookie leave to have a heart-to-heart talk. Arlene compares Alcide's death to Terry's. Late at night, when no one is looking, Arlene puts on Terry's jacket, so that she can pretend Terry has his arms around her.
During the party, James ends up having an affair with Lafayette. Jessica catches them red-handed. Jessica then ends up with Jason to spite him. Violet hears the reunited couple moaning and groaning but doesn't interrupt their lovemaking.
During the Republican fundraiser, the yakuza, Eric, and Pam end up at the same gala to find Sarah Newlin. The Japanese gangsters murder Sarah's parents but find themselves crossing paths with Northman. Eric rips the leader's mouth off.
While Sookie puts on Alcide's leather jacket, Bill gets up from the bathtub, checks himself in the mirror, and discovers he has been infected.
