'Futurama' Returns In 'Simpsons' Crossover Episode November 2014 - All Characters And Voice Cast Return
The Simpsons is set to for a crossover episode with Family Guy soon, meanwhile Futurama was just announced for another Simpsons crossover hitting Fox this November. This might be a more welcome collaboration for fans of The Simpsons, so the expectations are high for this special episode.
The crossover episode of the two series will air on Fox as an episode of The Simpsons in November, Simpsons producer Al Jean said during a panel at the Television Critics Association on Sunday. The crossover episode will feature Futurama voice actors Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr, Lauren Tom and Tress MacNeille. After originally running on Fox before getting picked up by Comedy Central, "Futurama" ended its series run in Sept. 2013.
This news is really just a confirmation from Jean, who last year revealed the crossover idea.
"Futurama is such an easy fit," he said in July of 2013. "It's really funny, and their show lends itself to any variety of plot lines. By having them on, we have a little freedom... The biggest thrill for me is that we don't have to adjust the animation style."
He also revealed the plot of the crossover episode, saying: "Bender has to come back from the future to kill Bart because there's something that Bart does now that makes the future really, really, really bad."
