Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Atonement) portrays World War II hero Alan Turing in a new biopic movie called The Imitation Game. Turing was the man that broke the Nazi's encrypted code with a special machine he created, with the help of a team of fellow mathematicians, including Joan Clarke, played by Keira Knightley. Yes, there is an air of romance in this movie, but the real story is how important Turning and his team were to the world.

This biopic also stars Mark Strong (Green Lantern), Matthew Goode (The Good Wife), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Alan Leech (Downton Abbey) and more!

Turing's work during WWII was monumentally important, but since we need to keep the audiences entertained, showcasing the relationship between him and Clarke is sure to be enough to keep non-history buffs' attention.

Oddly enough, Turing was a homosexual, so its interesting how the first trailer highlights a possible romance with Clarke. The film is expected to hit on Turing's prosecution for being a homosexual, though.

In THE IMITATION GAME, Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Alan Turing, the genius British mathematician, logician, cryptologist and computer scientist who led the charge to crack the German Enigma Code that helped the Allies win WWII. Turing went on to assist with the development of computers at the University of Manchester after the war, but was prosecuted by the UK government in 1952 for homosexual acts, which the country deemed illegal.
