Josh Gordon Suspension, Rehab & DWI Arrest: What's Next For Troubled Cleveland Browns WR?

By Kenneth Brown | Jul 25, 2014 02:57 PM EDT

In his short career, Josh Gordon, has never been too far away from the headlines. Sometimes for good reasons, but more often than not, it's for negative ones. The star has had problems with drugs, and most recently a DWI arrest, but it appears his team, the Cleveland Browns, will stand by their very talented wide receiver. It's believed that after his DWI arrest, he went in to rehab, and he is looking at ways to eradicate his bad behaviour, although he is likely to face a one-year suspension from the NFL.

The 23-year-old receiver led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards last season, but he recently spent two weeks in a California rehab facility, showing how quickly things can change in a young stars career. Gordon's coach, Mike Pettine, obviously believes it's a problem, saying "It is concerning, and you want to address it, but until we know where he stands with the league we don't know really where he stands with us. I've stated before that we've had the meetings, we've discussed all the options, from the best case to the worst case. And we're still in that mode of waiting."

Can Gordon save his NFL career, and are the Cleveland Browns right to support him, or should they cut ties with one of the NFL's most troubled stars? It's clear that Gordon can be one of the best receivers to ever play the game, but he's going to need a lot more help, and quite possibly a form of permanent supervision, at least for a while.

Will Gordon face a band, or will the NFL go easy on him?
