Rihanna Homeless Stalker Arrested In NYC: Pop Icon Threatened In Terrifying Letters
A homeless man who made terrifying threats toward Rihanna with a series of hand-delivered letters was arrested by police on Thursday.
53-yea-old Kevin Mcglynn was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court Friday evening and is being held without bail.
Mcglynn was allegedly seen on surveillance video, delivering the letters on three separate occasions to her Lafayette St. apartment in Soho.
According to court records, in the notes, Mcglynn refers to the singer as "b*tch" and threatened to "bum (rush) in her apartment."
At least four more letters have been sent to her California residence.
Assistant District Attorney James Vinocur told the judge, "The nature of these letters (is) confusing. They all do indicate a personal relationship, as I indicated before, that simply does not exist."
During the hearing, Mcglynn showed signs of mental distress - he claimed at one point Rihanna, Kanye West and Jay-Z ripped off "my material." When Judge Abraham Clott told Mcglynn he was unable to represent himself, Mcglynn's response was, "you are lying."
Cops found Mcglynn at Rihanna's residence by tracking him through his benefits card, which included his name and address. He has a long rap sheet with at least 12 arrests, four of which include trespassing.
The 26-year-old "Diamonds" singer recently rented the $14.6 million duplex in SoHo.
This is another incident in a long line of celebrity stalking incidents in the past year. Just last month a man was arrested on Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock's Los Angeles property after being spotted by a concerned neighbor. The man was subsequently charged with felony burglary, stalking and possession of a machine gun.
