Get ready to start chasing the sun.

Hilary Duff's new single has just leaked and it's just as summery and fun as we were hoping it would be.

The former Disney Channel star shows off her lighthearted attitude on her first single since 2007, which is when she released her last studio album Dignity.

"Sun" was written by Colbie Caillat and Jason Reeves, and it sounds like something that is definitely in both of their wheelhouses. With more beachy and laidback elements, it's a departure from Hilary's more dance inspired tracks like "With Love," and "Stranger," that were featured on her last studio album.

The track is available for pre-order right now on iTunes and the video for the summer inspired track is set to premiere tomorrow on Vevo.

Duff has been teasing the song on her Instagram page for the last couple of days, including a video that she posted of her son, Luca, dancing to his mommy's new song on the beach.

She also is promoting the song using airplane banners, letting fans know where the planes would be flying over, so they could catch a glimpse of them.

She captioned the list of beach locations, "HEY! Surprise airplanes flying over these beaches today!! Take pics and send them to me using #hilaryduff #chasingthesun."

She complied a collage of all the different planes writing, "Omg omg omg!! #chasingthesun planes!!"

We can already tell this is going to be a huge contender for the song of the summer; just take a look at the bubbly and fun lyrics below.

"Why am I in such a hurry, always getting up to early, so fast everything is blurry, oh oh. It's like the clock is always racing, but my time is not for wasting, someone else can do the chasing. Cause I'm chasing the sun, I'm chasing the sun, I'm chasing the sun, won't miss out on the fun got to get it while our hearts are young, I'm chasing the sun."
