MMA Fighter Mayura Dissanyake Beats Up 3 Robbers & States Intent To Fight In The UFC

Not so long ago the world had little idea who Mayura Dissanyake was, but now it seems like we might hear a lot more about the tough fighter. The hero beat up three would-be robbers in Houston, with the video all over the internet. He now insists he wants to go from the Houston gas station, all the way to the UFC Octagon. Will the fighter get his chance?

Mayura is a former champion in Sri Lanka, and he hopes this fame has given him a shot at UFC stardom. He explained "I want to make it to the UFC. That is my dream ... the whole reason I moved to the States" UFC boss Dana White has already insisted he "loved" the video, so will he give him a UFC contract?

Mayura has a fight scheduled in Houston for next month, perhaps if he impresses he could get a call from the UFC. The star trains five days a week, around his job at the gas station, but he would trade that in to tackle guys for a living, rather than thugs that could put his life at risk.

Mayura says he has a fight in Houston next month -- and hopes he can prove he's got what it takes.  Mayura reportedly beat up one attempted robber so badly, the other two ran away -- but he admits he had special inspiration, saying "The policy [at Fuel Depot] is ... if someone steals something, I'm told to not chase after them. But in this instance it wasn't someone stealing something, it was my friend who was in trouble.  I HAD to help."

Does this gas station hero deserve a shot in the UFC?  Readers, tell us what you think in the comments below.
