Bryan Singer Scandal Update, Sex Abuse Parties Lawsuit: Lawyer Drops 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Director Accuser Michael Egan

Michael Egan, the man accusing director Bryan Singer of sex abuse charges, has been dropped by his lawyer, Jeff Herman, this week. This news comes just days after the X-Men director had these charges dismissed. Egan's lawsuit against Singer has been slowly crumbling ever since it started and this is just the biggest sign that the director is looking at less legal trouble these days.

"We are in the process of withdrawing from representing Mr. Egan in all his cases and have no further comment concerning his matters at this time," a statement release by Herman's offices said. "We cannot comment on any actual or purported documents that may or may not be or reflect privileged or confidential communications. We decline to speak about any other clients we may or may not have represented."

Besides the charges being dismissed recently, Buzzfeed also ran an article stating Egan refused to sign an agreement to drop all charges for a sum of $100,000.

Meanwhile, Marty Singer (Bryan's attorney) commented on the agreement and the recent departure of Herman to The Hollywood Reporter.

"As Mr. Egan and his now ex-lawyers know, a legitimate claim in this type of case can run into the millions of dollars, so their willingness to resolve it for such a relatively low figure demonstrates their total lack of confidence in their chances for success. This was their way of trying to save face after an unsuccessful attempted shakedown of Bryan Singer," he said. "Let us be clear, this in no way changes the fact that Bryan Singer is innocent of these unsubstantiated lies."
