'Birdman' Movie Trailer, Release Date [VIDEO] Watch Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis & More In New Black Comedy Extended Look
From the looks of this new extended international trailer, Birdman looks like one of the weirdest movies of 2014. Starring Michael Keaton as a washed up actor that portrayed a superhero earlier in his career (whoa, Batman reference much!) and returning to the limelight to reestablish himself, we see just how much fame can weigh down on someone. Birdman also stars Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts and more, and has an October 17 release date.
So far, what we've seen from director Alejandro González Iñárritu's new movie in the form of trailers and previews is that black comedy has a place in today's cinema world. You can draw similarities between this and another popular black comedy, Death to Smoochy, but Birdman offers a whole new level of technological advances affect our cerebral intake while watching the film.
As this extended trailer progresses, we learn the story arch for Birdman, and see how Keaton's character eventually crumbles under the pressure. Nobody respects him any more, including his daughter (Stone). So what does he do? He embraces the Birdman.
