According to Deadline, We Are Your Friends revolves around a DJ named Cole (Efron) who spends his days with his childhood friends and nights trying to spark a fire in his stagnant music career. Things get complicated when the jockey starts a forbidden romance with someone else's girlfriend. With his relationship with Sophie (Ratajkowski) intensifying, will he trade music for something he can't have?
