'True Blood' Season 7 [Spoilers]: Will Nelsan Ellis' Lafayette Find Romance With James This Final Season?
Though his character never made it alive after the first book in Charlaine Harris' book series, Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis) quickly become a fan favorite in HBO's True Blood. With the final season winding down to the last episodes, could history repeat itself as Lafayette finds himself on the chopping block?
In our recent recaps, Tara's cousin found himself strangely attracted to Jessica's boyfriend, James (Nathan Parsons). As the chemistry grew between them, the enamored couple went out for a spin while everyone else was partying at Sookie's house. While looking everywhere for her neglected boy toy, Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) suddenly caught the two lovebirds in a steamy hookup.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the True Blood star spoke about how his popular character deserves some happiness. This final season is about Lafayette seeking redemption for killing his previous boyfriend, Jesus Velasquez (Kevin Alejandro).
Ellis describes why the relationship with James will be different, "Lafayette used to be a prostitute, and I think he's just like, "We love each other, let's just do it." I think that they made a decision, and showrunner Brian Buckner was like, "We're going to give him a happy ending"- no pun intended."
It turns out Lafayette and James will end up together after all. But what's going to happen with Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie (Anna Paquin) now that they are infected with Hepatitis V? There are still lots of questions waiting to be answered.
