Ashley Cole: Sir Alex Ferguson: Darren Ferguson: Cheryl Cole: Premier League: AS Roma's Former Chelsea & Arsenal Defender Photobombs Peterborough United's 2014/15 Squad Picture
Poor Ashley Cole has moved to AS Roma, leaving the Premier League behind, but he still cannot escape being mocked in his home country. The former Chelsea and Arsenal star had been one of the best left backs the EPL has ever seen, but more often than not he made his way in to the press for the wrong reasons. He has recently been seen in images with with his teammate Francesco Totti and then in his ex-wife Cheryl Cole's photo, but now Peterborough United have joined in with the fun. The club, managed by Darren Ferguson, the son of Sir Alex Ferguson, might be two levels below the Premier League, but their banter is EPL standard it seems, allowing Cole to 'photobomb' them'.
The squad yesterday took their 2014/15 squad photo, and behind the scenes the staff photoshopped Cole in to the image, tweeting saying "Roma player Ashley Cole snuck into our squad photo today at London Road." You'd think that would be the end of it, right? Nope. The picture exploded, going viral, with thousands of retweets, likes and favourites across Facebook and Twitter. Yet again, Cole is the laughing stock of English football, yet this time he's not put a foot wrong.
This bold move by the club is likely to open the door for more hilarious ideas like this, for both himself and his fellow players. Cole looks set to finish his career in Italy, however, it seems he will always have the English eyes cast upon him, even if he is living a normal, happy life.
Is this the funniest sporting photobomb of all time?
