The American remake of Indonesia's action-packed film The Raid: Redemption is on its way and this week new rumors about the cast have surfaced. According to reports, Taylor Kitsch is the front-runner to lead this movie and has allegedly been offered the role. Plus a "wish list" of actors has circulated around the Internet including names like Luke Evans, Anthony Mackie, and Ethan Hawke.

Kitsch is also linked to at least one of three male leading roles for the second season of True Detective. According to reports, filming for the HBO series would wrap by the time The Raid starts filming, so Kitsch could technically have two big contract-signings this week!

What do you think of this news? Is Kitsch the man to take on this film? What about the other actors on the wish list - how are they involved? Share your opinions in the comments section below!

Meanwhile, the remake's director, Patrick Hughes, opened up about some plot details and how he plans on taking on the challenge of remaking the Gareth Evans film.

"We have a really, really interesting take on that film. One thing, obviously the original just blew my mind and I was fortunate enough to catch up with Gareth Evans in LA at the premiere of The Raid 2. The thing that blew my mind with that film was the aesthetics and the fight sequences but also the simplicity of the premise, and there's so much you can do with that," Hughes said. "So our take on it is really interesting and I feel like if anything what I want to do is elevate the emotional aspect of it, and I think those are my favorite action films of all time when you can balance the action and the emotion, and what he did with his first 'Raid' was phenomenal."
