'Sparkle' Movie Soundtrack Featuring Whitney Houston's Final Song: Hear It Here

The new "Sparkle" soundtrack -- which features two Whitney Houston songs -- doesn't hit the shelves until July 31, but it is already available to listen to online. Whitney Houston's final recorded song was titled "Celebrate," and it features Sparks, while the only solo song she has on the soundtrack to "Sparkle" is called "His Eye Is On The Sparrow."

The duet "Celebrate" was recorded by Whitney Houston and Sparks -- who play a mother and daughter team in the film -- just four days before Whitney Houston passed away earlier this year, the gossip website TMZ reported in May, and as such has been highly-anticipated by the singer's loyal fans.

Harvey Mason, Jr., the music producer of "Celebrate," spoke to People.com about the recording, telling the site Houston was "really positive" while working on the song, and that "We ended the session dancing around the control room while she said 'Turn it up! Turn it up!' She was so fun-loving."

"Sparkle" is a remake of the classic 1976 film by the same name, which Whitney Houston acquired the rights to a number of years ago. The plot is a classic tale of the roller-coaster ride that often defines a successful career in popular music:

"Set in the 1960s, three sisters form girl group and soon become Motown sensations, but fame becomes a challenge as the close-knit family begins to fall apart," according to a description on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).

The film stars Houston, Sparks, Sumpter, Ejogo, Mike Epps, Brely Evans, and others, and is expected to be a box-office hit due to the interest in witnessing Whitney Houston's final acting performance before her untimely demise, which shocked and captured the attention of the world earlier this year.

Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel room in California on Feb. 11, 2012, just before she was due to attend the annual Grammy awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Her death was ruled to be accidental drowning brought on by heart troubles and cocaine abuse, according to the IMDB.

The peak of her acting career was her gripping performance alongside Kevin Costner in 1992's award-winning "The Bodyguard." She remains one of the best-selling and most-beloved singers in music history.
