Archaia Entertainment's 'Jim Henson's Tale Of Sand' - Ramón K. Pérez Draws Jim Henson & Jerry Juhl's Screenplay!

Archaia Entertainment, an imprint of BOOM! Studios, is excited to announce the debut of Jim Henson's Tale of Sand: The Illustrated Screenplay and Jim Henson's Tale of Sand Box Set. Experience Henson's masterpiece like never before from critically acclaimed artist Ramón K. Pérez.

In 1967, The Muppets creator teamed up with his longtime writing partner, Jerry Juhl, for an original piece of work. Finally in 1974, after three revised drafts, the last touches were put into theTale of Sand screenplay. Unfortunately, the project never went beyond the written page. 

Ahead of his time, the strange visuals from the Labyrinth director were too much in scope of '70s cinema. In the narrative, a young man named Mac who is involved in a race across an extensive desert. Meanwhile, Mac is being chased by a mysterious one-eyed stranger known as 'Patch.'

Filip Sablik, BOOM! Studios President of Publishing and Marketing, remembers how The Dark Crystal scribe made an impact with his creations, "Jim Henson continues to be one of the most influential, creative men in recent history, and his work has shaped the imaginations of creators worldwide." Sablik continues, "Being able to reproduce the screenplay for fans is incredibly exciting, and having Ramón return to do new work for this book means we can make a collected edition of the highest quality for fans."

In The Illustrated Screenplay, there will be never-before-seen sequences drawn by Pérez in gorgeous black-and-white. The Box Set will include a beautiful slipcase for the hardcover edition. Readers will be witness the creative process from first draft to final comic page.
