'Dancing With The Stars' Drama - Derek Hough Vs Maksim Chermokskiy, 'DWTS' Pro Says Maks Is 'Incredibly Insecure'
While fans were sad to hear the news that Dancing With the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy was leaving the hit ABC series, one of the stars of the show might be pretty happy to hear of the departure.
Derek Hough and Maksim have had a rumored feud going on behind-the-scenes of the popular reality-series but it looks like thing might be escalating, as Hough took a stab at Chmerkovskiy in his new book Taking the Lead: Lessons from a Life in Motion.
In his book, which was released last week, Derek talks about her relationship with the DWTS professional.
During a preview of the book with USA Today, Hough cites that a major lesson that he learned from Maks was, "Power over other is weakness in disguise."
He also bashes his co-star and his relationship with his dancing partner Meryl Davis, saying that their possible romantic relationship was just to build a storyline. He also inferred that Meryl is the one that helped to lead the two to victory, "Meryl became the coach, Maks became the student."
"I've always known this, [Maks] is incredibly insecure," Hough revealed. "He's not confident in what he does as much as he puts it out. So he overcompensates. If you think about it, that's why people lash out, get angry or frustrated- is out of fear. If you're very confident in who you are, you wouldn't have reason to lash out."
However, despite all this negativity, Derek took to his Twitter account to clarify his statements, saying, that what he said was taken out of context.
"For the record a comment I made in today's USA Today about Maks was taken out of context . I was speaking about that amazing week when he opened up on camera and Meryl was there for him . Insecure is definitely the wrong word. vulnerable is is the word I should have used. Apologies to Maks and to his fans."
