Jessica Sanchez 'Ecstatic' for Homecoming Concert

Jessica Sanchez will have a sweet reunion with her hometown community at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, a tour location part of the American Idol Live! Tour.  It's a special opportunity for the American Idol runner-up to make her city even more proud than they already are. 

The Idol family has been touring by bus since early this month stopping by the hometowns of each finalist.  Sanchez will perform as one of the top performers at the San Diego concert tonight (July 26).

"I'm ecstatic. I cannot wait!" Jessica gushed. "The set list for each show (on the tour) is pretty much the same, but I'll try to make it as special as I can in San Diego."

The Filipino-Mexican American singer has a lot going for her right now.  She is performing on a national tour, preparing her debut album set to release in November, being home schooled four hours a day, and sharing newfound love with boyfriend and fellow Idol alum DeAndre Brackensick. At the young age of 16, she is handling it all pretty well.

Sanchez reflected, "This year has been crazy.  Everything has happened so fast that I don't even have time to reminisce. Every moment has been amazing."

People all ages have expressed respect and love towards the young Sanchez because she purposefully tries to be a good role model for people.

"I want to be a role model for kids and show them that I'm not a goody-goody-two-shoes girl, but that I'm not a bad girl, either," Jessica shared in Salt Lake City.  "I'm just a regular girl, following her dreams and I'm not going to let anybody change me."

Though she didn't take the crown of American Idol, to many of her fans named Blujays, she is their American Idol.  

Blujays are found in her hometown Chula Vista as well as worldwide.  With Sanchez' Mexican background from her father's side, the Latino community continues to root for her strongly throughout the Idol season.  With her Filipino background from her mother's side, she is very well received by fans in the Philippines.  Aside from ethnic backgrounds, many fans from all ethnicities believe in a bright future for the talented vocal powerhouse.  

Sanchez recognizes that without her fans, she would not be where she is now and honors them with regular live stream chats and sweet tweets.  She also planned a special Skype Party on July 29 for her Filipino fans.
 
To her 700,000+ Twitter followers, she tweeted, "Excited for tonights show :)" followed by "I've missed you."

Her Chula Vista community also missed her, tweeting back, "Chula Vista missed yuu too!!! I can't wait for the concert today :D" 

Another fan wrote, "We've missed you more! Oh I mean San Diego misses you more! Chula Vista is very very very proud of you Jessica!! :)"

Looks like Sanchez will receive a very warm welcome tonight.
