If you were a kid growing up in the 80s and 90s, Robin Williams was probably a hero in your eyes. He made you laugh, when you were down, and made you want to watch his films over and over again, and show generations that have been born now.

MStars News is taking a look back at some of it's favorite childhood memories, and even our adulthood laughs of the outstanding actor, who will be missed dearly by his fans, family, and Hollywood.

Just as Williams wife, Susan Schneider said in a her statement, "As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."

6. Flubber ( 1997 )

 

Robin Williams played scientist and professor, Philip Brainard who develops a new energy source, ( Flubber ) in an effort to raise money to save the college from closure. Williams ( Brainard ) creation was an experiment that was green and looked like "flying rubber," which leads Williams to name him, "Flubber".

 

5. Jumanji ( 1995 )


 

In the hit 90s film, Jumanji now a household game was played by Williams who starred as Alan Parrish, a boy who was lost inside of the board game for 26 years, when two kids discover the game, and the magical board game, that releases Parrish, and other surprises that can only be stopped by finishing the game.

4. The Birdcage ( 1996 )


 

Williams played many roles, and drag was one. The actor starred as a gay cabaret owner named, Armand Goldman who along with is drag queen lover, Albert Goldman ( Nathan Lane) agree to act as straight men in front of their son so that they can meet his fiancée's strict parents.

3. Hook ( 1991 )


 

Hook was one of the best Peter Pan remakes of all times. Williams played the miserable husband ( Peter Banning ) the adult Peter Pan. Captain Hook kidnaps his children, as Peter must return to Neverland, and remember his youthful, childhood ways in order to challenge his old pirate, to win his kids back.

2. Popeye ( 1980 )


 

As a childhood cartoon, Popeye encouraged kids to eat their spinach to become strong, Williams played a real Popeye in 1980. "The sailor man travels to a seaside town called Sweethaven, falls in love with Olive Oyl, adopts Swee'pea, and makes an enemy of Bluto," IMDb describes the film.

And of course, the number, one of the best movies of all time, Mrs Doubtfire!!! ( 1993 )

Williams taught kids how to cope with divorce, by dressing up as a woman, Mrs. Doubtfire, after his bitter divorce from his wife, Miranda Hillard ( Sally Field ) , in order to spend time with his 3 kids, after their mother lands full custody and starts dating a client, Stu ( Pierce Brosnan ).
