Scandal Season 4 Spoilers: Mary McCormack, Josh Randall Join Cast as Guest Stars
Two more characters will be showing up on Season 4 of ABC's Scandal, which could mean any number of things for Olivia Pope and Associates.
Multiple sites report Mary McCormack and Josh Randall have secured guest-starring roles on the Shonda Rhimes series. The only tangible information available is the two will play a couple and will appear in an episode scheduled for early October. All other details remain under wraps, as is usually the case with Scandal.
McCormack is perhaps best known for her work on The West Wing and In Plain Sight, while Randall has appeared on CSI and Rhimes' two other series, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, in which he played two different characters.
The Hollywood Reporter said at the end of last month that Kelen Coleman would join the Season 4 premiere. The site reported the details on Coleman's role are under wraps, but it's unclear if the character has any connection to Portia de Rossi, who recently booked a mysterious arc of her own on the show.
In other news, Rhimes tweeted a photo of the Season 4 premiere script cover, which reveals the title as "Randy, Red, Superfreak and Julia." She posted the picture after a read-through with the cast. The script also reveals she wrote the episode.
The meaning of the title is anyone's guess. TVLine proposes it's a reference to the associates Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) left behind when she went off with Jake (Scott Foley) in the Season 3 finale. "Randy" is Quinn (Katie Lowes), "Superfreak" is Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and "Red" is Abby (Darby Stanchfield). The site doesn't have a guess for Julia but points to a rumor that it could be a new team member played by Portia de Rossi.
