'Rise Of The Tomb Raider' Release Date, Gameplay Trailer [VIDEO] - PS4 Or Xbox One? 2015 Lara Croft Title Exclusive To Microsoft Gaming Console
Earlier this year at the 2014 E3 conference from Microsoft, Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced as the follow up to 2013's Tomb Raider rebooted video game series. This weekend's Gamescom proved to be an even bigger platform for Lara Croft news, because we learned that the PS4 would not be seeing this new title. That's right - this is an Xbox One exclusive title with a late 2015 release date set.
Darrell Gallagher, head of product development over at Crystal Dynamics, this week penned an open letter to the "Tomb Raider community," explaining why this would be an Xbox One exclusive title.
"Today's announcement with Microsoft is one step to help us put Tomb Raider on top of action adventure gaming," he explained. "Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011. We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past - we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft."
Gallagher went on to explain that Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris would hit both platforms this December, so we should at least be okay with that new ... right?
