'Walking Dead' Video Game Announced Ahead Of AMC's Season 5 Episodes [TRAILER] 'Payday 2' Developers OVERKILL Creating New Zombie Co-Op Title

It looks like a new video game adaptation of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead is in the works, and this time it comes from Payday 2 developers OVERKILL Software. This news comes just about a month before the AMC series based on Kirkman's graphic novel series starts up its season 5 episodes, so the hype around this new game is sure to grow as we get closer to its release date. Kirkman is heavily involved in OVERKILL's new game and made an announcement of the project on the developer's website!

"I'm a huge fan of what OVERKILL and [other developers] Starbreeze have been able to do with Payday 2. It's just an amazing co-operative game and I'm excited to be able to announce that [publisher] Skybound is partnering with OVERKILL to make a Walking Dead game," Kirman announced on OVERKILL's message forum on Steam. "I'm happy to say that it's the co-op game that all of the Walking Dead fans have been waiting for."

Meanwhile, game developers OVERKILL and Starbreeze, are ecstatic about this new project.

With Robert on the team, we will bring The Walking Dead into the world of first-person shooter co-op games." says Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint.
